IFEBP announces 2012 executive committee

Canadian serving as president and chair at International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans

The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) has announced its 2012 executive committee, and a Canadian is at the helm.

Richard Lyall, the Vaughan, Ont.-based president of the Residential Construction Council of Ontario (RESCON) and president of the Metropolitan Toronto Apartment Builders Association, will hold the title of president and chair of IFEBP’s executive committee.

Rounding out the committee are:

President-elect: George R. Laufenberg, administrative manager, New Jersey Carpenters Funds, Edison, N.J.

Treasurer: Kenneth R. Boyd, president, Local 1546; international vice-president, United Food and Commercial Workers, Chicago.

Secretary: Thomas T. Holsman, chief executive officer, AGC of California, West Sacramento, Calif.

The executive committee holds authority over all programs and business affairs for IFEBP. It administers finances, monitors the progress of projects, and serves as the main conduit in channeling proposals and recommendations for board consideration.

The committee also includes two past-presidents and three sector representatives:

Immediate past-president: John J. Simmons, trustee, Buffalo Carpenters Pension Fund, Oswego, N.Y.

Past-president: Simone L. Rockstroh, president and treasurer, Carday Associates, Columbia, Md.

Canadian sector representative: David N. Harvey, president and CEO, Benefit Plan Administrators, Mississauga, Ont.

Corporate sector representative: Cindy L. Conway, group director global benefits, Cadence Design Systems, San Jose, Calif.

Public employees sector representative: J. Sparb Collins, executive director, North Dakota Public Employees Retirement System, Bismarck, N.D.

The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans is a Brookfield, Wisc.-based non-profit educational association serving the employee benefits and compensation industry. It has more than 35,000 members representing 8,300 plus trust funds, corporations, public employee groups and professional advisory firms in the United States and Canada.
