BUCHAREST, Romania — A small Bucharest-based company has taken a different approach in recruiting its newest worker.
CATBOX, a maker of casual gifts, went through an unusual marketing exercise by hiring a cat named Boss to become its public face.
The company released a video showing Boss, a male Scottish Fold cat, seated at the desk, attending staff meetings and enjoying lunch breaks.
He competed against more than 700 other applicants to land the coveted gig — which comes with a paycheque of 150 euros ($210 Cdn) and 50 euros ($70 Cdn) of cat food every month.
Cyprian Velea, the cat’s owner, said Boss’ attitude would encourage people from all around the world to be proud of their pets.
