ospital staff in Vancouver are being given an incentive to stay healthy — a shot at a $300 prize for not calling in sick for a six-month period.

The Vancouver Coastal Health Authority put together the offer for its 27,000 health-care workers in an effort to reduce a $175-million deficit by cutting staffing costs.
