E-mail dominates workplace communication

Nearly half of Canadians with an e-mail address at work say it is the communications tool they use most

ust as one British telecommunications firm took the unusual step of banning e-mail use for internal communications a study shows that Canadian workers have come to rely on e-mail as their primary choice of communication.

Among Canadian workers with an e-mail address at work, 44 per cent said it is the tool they use most at work. The telephone came in second, with 28 per cent, and face-to-face meetings came in at 15 per cent.
