Saskatchewan's legislation expanding the definition of harassment to include personal harassment in the workplace, such as abuse of power and bullying, came into effect on Oct. 1.

The legislation amended the Occupational Health and Safety Act and also allows for the appointment of an independent adjudicator to hear appeals arising from harassment complaints.

Saskatchewan joins Quebec as the only provinces that ban abuse of power and bullying in the workplace.
