Put on some comfortable shoes and get those business cards ready: It’s time to network.
Human resources professionals from across Ontario, and around North America, will be gathering in Toronto this week for the 2013 Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) annual conference which runs from Jan. 23 to Jan. 25.
Conferences are an excellent opportunity for HR practitioners to network and take in some professional development.
At Canadian HR Reporter, we’ve had the privilege to attend numerous HR conferences around North America. Last year, publisher John Hobel took in the Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA) conference in Calgary, and I headed east to Saint John, N.B., in November to soak in the excellent Atlantic HR Conference put on by the Human Resources Association of New Brunswick (HRANB).
In recent years, we’ve also sent staff to conferences in Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton, Niagara Falls, Ont., Montreal, Ottawa and other locations across Canada and the United States. It’s always time well spent.
If you happen to be among the 3,500 or so HR professionals expected to visit the show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, please take a few minutes to drop by the Thomson Reuters booth at the tradeshow (Booth #223) to say hello.
