HRPA offering cross-platform mobile app

Connects members to new HR Hotline, promotions, updates

The Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) in Ontario has launched a mobile app for members.

Originally conceived as a faster way to connect HRPA members to the association’s new HR Hotline — which gives members instant access to experienced Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) volunteers — it can also be used to access professional development programs, offers from the members savings program, chapter and HRPA rewards card promotions, social media posts and regulatory updates.

“We had been looking at mobile for some time but did not think we could launch an app this quickly and cost-effectively,” said Chris Larsen, vice-president of marketing and membership at HRPA in Toronto. “With changing member demographics, having a mobile presence is increasingly important and makes services like HR Hotline even more valuable to the professional community because they can be accessed anywhere from a BlackBerry, Android or iPhone smartphone.”

My HRPA is a cross-platform mobile app developed by Panvista, a provider of mobile application software for businesses.

“HRPA understood the value of offering members quick access to an experienced CHRP for information and advice. By launching their mobile app at the same time as their new HR Hotline, they’re really establishing a mobile presence that demonstrates their commitment to their membership,” said John Robinson, chief strategy officer at Panvista in Toronto.

The app is still a work in progress, according to HRPA, but it can be downloaded now from Apple App Store, Google Play and BlackBerry World.
