BC HRMA rebrands, now officially called HRMA

Change 'reflects new realities' facing businesses, members, profession

The BC Human Resources Management Association has officially dropped “BC” from its name and is now calling itself the Human Resources Management Association (HRMA).

The change reflects a number of realities facing businesses, membership and the HR profession, according to the association.

“Good leadership and HR practices are not bound by provincial borders. Many of our members are business leaders who have operations in other provinces, territories, states and even abroad in other countries,” said Anthony Ariganello, CEO of HRMA in Vancouver.

“In the digital economy, we felt our name must reflect our commitment to support and engage with our members and organizations wherever they may be. For example, our borderless community facilitated the development of our data solution, HR Metrics Service, and its findings are accessed and used by HR professionals right across the country.”

HRMA has also redesigned its look, including its emblem and colour palette. The logo now features a stylied “hR” with an orange background.

The new look reflects a brand essence of a profession that is authoritative, powerful, informative and trustworthy, said the association, adding the emblem reflects the profession’s breadth, reach and leadership in business, as well as the "big tent’" inclusiveness of the HR profession.

HRMA has more than 5,500 members and is the exclusive grantor of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation in British Columbia and Yukon.
