CRA, Ikea, Scotiabank among top employers for young people

Recognized for mentorship, training, benefit, career management programs

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Scotiabank and Ikea are among Canada’s Top Employers for Young People, according to Mediacorp.

The competition recognizes employers that offer the nation's best workplaces and programs for young people just starting their careers. Each employer is evaluated in terms of the programs they have to attract and retain younger workers. These include benefits such as tuition assistance and the availability of co-op or work-study programs; mentorship and training programs, including benefits such as bonuses paid when employees complete certain courses or professional designations; and career management programs.

"The best employers realize that their youngest employees value the opportunity to contribute to the organization and society," said Kristina Leung, senior editor for Canada's Top 100 Employers project at Mediacorp Canada. "They are using technology to let their youngest employees do this more effectively than ever before — and to make their voices heard within the organizations."
