TORONTO — Ontario is proposing to cap compensation for its executives at no more than double the premier’s salary — $418,000 per year. The government is also proposing a three-year pay freeze for all public sector managers and a two-year freeze for managers who are eligible for performance pay. The freeze would save the government about $12 million this year, it said.

OTTAWA — The federal government has launched a new website dedicated to helping veterans find jobs in the building and construction industry. Helmets to Hardhats (www.helmetstohardhats.ca) is a web-based program that connects veterans with apprenticeships and career opportunities in more than 60 trades.
