Average cost in terms of compensation and indirect costs: $10-billion
Compensated injuries that involve young workers, aged 15 to 29: One-third of all compensated injuries involve young people. This makes young people the highest risk group.
The number of on-the-job accidents involving people 14 years of age or under has been increasing.
