Survey covers equity, diversity, inclusion
Statistics Canada is asking the public for feedback to fill data gaps on equity, diversity and inclusion in postsecondary institutions that can help in the development of policies and programs in support of faculty members and researchers.
The Survey of Postsecondary Faculty and Researchers (SPFR) asks respondents to fill out an online questionnaire on the following topics: human resources in science and technology; education, training and learning; equity and inclusion; teachers and educators; students; research and development; and labour.
The survey is designed to capture information about faculty and researchers at publicly funded colleges and universities, including full- and part-time university faculty, college instructors, postdoctoral fellows, and doctoral students across Canada, says the government. It will examine various topics such as equity and inclusion, employment security, job duties and other employment, learning and development opportunities, access to research funding, and harassment and discrimination.
The information gathered may be combined with data from other surveys or administrative sources or be used by Statistics Canada for other statistical and research purposes.
