CPA recognizes payroll professionals

Annual awards honour members, experts and special partners

The Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2008 Payroll Profession Awards. At the awards banquet in June, the association presented the following awards to members, subject matter experts, staff and special partners:

The Diana Ferguson Award for outstanding contribution to the advancement of the CPA's mission, objectives and values: Gilles Champagne, national practice leader of payroll services at Telus Sourcing Solutions.

The Board of Directors Award for subject matter experts who exhibit vision, creativity and teamwork in meeting the strategic plan of the CPA: Members of the Quebec Region's Provincial Government Relations Advisory Council including Richard Rousseau, Joseph McNamara, André Vincent, Christian Coutu, Yves Mercier and Mariette Corbeil.

The CPA Special Contributor Award for making a significant contribution to the payroll profession: Gilles Coulombe, former Quebec regional co-ordinator for the CPA.

The CPA Certification Awards for students who have attained the highest overall marks in the CPA certification courses: Lubiana Galely (gold), Katharine Liang (silver) and Gladys Punzalan (bronze).

The CPA's 10-Year Staff Award: Meera Ramsurrun, senior co-ordinator in the CPA's certification department.
