HR flash mob for charity

Hundreds of HR professionals dance in video to raise money for World Education

Hundreds of Canadian HR professionals have come together in a "flash mob" type video to raise money for charity.

The video features HR professionals dancing to the song "Airplanes" by B.o.B. and was the brainchild of Halogen, a talent management software provider.

Once the video has been viewed 100,000 times, Halogen will donate $10,000 to World Education, which is dedicated to improving the lives of the poor through education, and economic and social development programs.

“Access to education has a direct impact on the quality of life for people of all cultures and age groups,” said Joel Lamstein, president of World Education. “Quite simply, education leads to better health and less poverty. The funds that Halogen is helping to raise will go a long way to supporting our efforts to improve the lives and the prospects of the poor— particularly girls and women.”

The video was filmed at the Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa and the song was selected for its message about wishing for better times, according to Halogen.
