Automating performance management key for attraction, retention: Report

Benefits in areas of efficiency, compliance, process improvement, business transformation

Organizations striving to retain talent and embed a high-performance culture should invest in automated employee performance management, according to a report by human resources consultancy ETS in Surrey, UK.

Nearly 40 per cent of employees are dissatisfied with the performance appraisal process, found the report Automatic for the People: Why automation of performance management is an organisational imperative.

“Performance management is a critical business process that many organizations aren’t getting right,” said Hannah Stratford, head of business psychology at ETS and author of the report. “Implementation of an effective solution helps unlock the full potential of individuals and maximize business performance.”

Taking performance management online can result in benefits across three areas: efficiency and compliance, process improvement, and business transformation and performance, said ETS.

“The paper will be a useful resource for HR practitioners (who have) yet to automate performance management processes, helping set out a robust business case for doing so,” said Stratford. “It’ll also be of interest to organizations already using an automated performance management system that has not delivered the desired results.”
