Sales jobs up dramatically on workopolis.com

Job postings in other sectors also on the rise - could signal an economic upturn and more of a sellers' market for recruiters.

Postings for sales jobs, on one of Canada’s largest job-posting Web sites, are up dramatically.

According to workopolis.com, the number of sales positions available on the site in January rose 36 per cent over last August, prior to last fall’s economic uncertainty.

The site has also had an increase in available jobs in other sectors including finance, engineering and health care.

At the same time, there are still many Canadians seeking jobs. In January alone, workopolis.com had more than a million unique visitors who viewed more than 55 million pages on the site, the highest volume of traffic in its history.
