Renewal agreement: Effective June 1, 2017, to May 31, 2022. Signed on June 1, 2017.
Shift premium: $0.30 per hour for hours worked between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. $0.35 per hour for all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday. $3 per hour (previously $2.50 per hour) trade-rate A to ticketed employees. Effective June 1, 2020: $3.20 per hour. 
Paid holidays: 11 days. 
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 6 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 11 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 16 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week for 8-hour shifts. Time and one-half for all work after average of 40 hours per week over 2-week period for 12-hour shifts. Double time for work on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Labour Day. May be banked, maximum 160 hours, will be paid out by Sept. 1 of each year.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for 100% reimbursement of basic, with no cap; 80% reimbursement of major with $1,500 cap per year. Orthodontic: 50% reimbursement for dependents younger than 21, with $1,400 cap per patient per year.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for $210 every 24 months (previously $185 every 24 months). Effective June 1, 2020: $300 every 24 months.
Paramedical: Employer pays 100% of premiums for $300 per year per practitioner.
Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 60% weekly earnings, maximum $540 per week for 26 weeks.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 60% weekly earnings, maximum $2,500 per month. 
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 1-times annual earnings, minimum $30,000. 
Pension: Employer will contribute $2.65 per hour (previously $2.55 per hour) in first year of collective agreement; $2.65 per hour in second year; $2.70 per hour in third year; $2.75 per hour in fourth year, $2.80 per hour in fifth year to Steelworkers Members Pension Benefit Plan, Plan B.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse, partner, child, parent, brother, sister, grandparents, grandchild. 2 days for death of mother-in-law, father-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, legal guardian, sister-in-law, brother-in-law.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months with less than 1 year of service, 24 months after 1 year of service; 36 months after 2 years of service. 
Call-in pay: Minimum of 4 hours pay’ at regular rate or paid for actual time worked at applicable rate if greater. 
Probationary period: 6 months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months (36 months for serious misconduct, breach of Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, drugs and alcohol).
Severance: After 5 years of service, 1 week of regular wage per year of service with no maximum. 
Safety shoes: $125 per year. May be accumulated, maximum $250 in 2-year period.

Supporter: $21.55 rising 4 steps to $22.65
First specialty: $22.15 rising 4 steps to $23.25 
Second specialty: $22.75 rising 4 steps to $23.85
Third specialty: $23.35 rising 4 steps to $24.45
Team leader: $24.45 rising 4 steps to $25.55
Operator: $24.29 rising 4 steps to $25.52
First specialty: $24.91 rising 4 steps to $26.14 
Second specialty: $25.53 rising 4 steps to $26.76
Third specialty: $26.15 rising 4 steps to $27.38 
Team leader: $28.05 rising 4 steps to $29.28
Spec. operator: $27.10 rising 4 steps to $28.48

Editor’s notes: Medical examination: When requested, cost of obtaining examination will be borne by employer, maximum $40. Humanity fund: Employer will pay $0.01 per hour from all employees in bargaining unit for all hours worked to humanity fund at United Steelworkers of America. On-call: $100 per week. Gainsharing program: Maximum 4% for operational efficiency, 2% for CTT, 4% for safety, 4% for quality. Will be paid monthly.
