Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2023. Signed on March 24, 2022.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 1.5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2022: 1. 75%
Effective Jan. 1, 2023: 1.75%
Shift premium: $195 for performers on camera in speaking roles; $125 for performers appearing on camera in non-speaking roles.
Paid holidays: 12 days, including Day after New Year’s Day, La Fete Nationale, National Truth and Reconciliation Day, plus 2 personal floater days per year.
Vacations with pay: 1.5 days per month, maximum 15 days, to start, 15 days after 1 year, 20 days after 7 years, 23 days after 12 years, 25 days after 18 years, 30 days after 25 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for time worked after daily work schedule in 1 day; after 80 hours per 2-week period for production and technical employees; after 75 hours in per 2-week period. Time and one-half for all hours performed beyond 12 hours per day for production and technical employees; 11.5 hours per day for office and talent employees. May be taken as time off in lieu and must be taken within vacation year.
Medical benefits: Omniflex plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death immediate family (legal guardian, spouse, common-law spouse, father, mother, sister, brother, child, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent). Additional 2 days under special circumstances.
Seniority – recall rights:
Call-in pay: When employee works 4 hours or less on day off, employee will be compensated at 2 times basic rate, minimum 4 hours of pay. When employee works more than 4 hours, employee will be compensated at time and one-half, minimum credit of daily work schedule.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for notice of reprimand; 18 months for suspension.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply protective clothing, safety devices for employees on assignments (remotes from mobile units, towers), when conditions require use and will supply any other special attire where required. $900 annual clothing allowance (previously $660) for camerapersons and assistants, satellite and microwave technicians, MMT’s and overnight patroller assigned to news or production department. $40 monthly dry cleaning allowance for reporter/writers, video journalists, assignment editor/reporters.

Editor’s notes: TV extras: Employer may use persons in broadcasting division to appear on TV programs as extras. $50 for up to 30 minutes per program; $80 for up to 60 minutes per program. Out-of-town assignments: $12 for breakfast; $20 for lunch; $25 for dinner (previously $23) for employees who do not require overnight accommodation. $75 per diem for each 24-hour period in addition to cost of accommodation for those who require overnight accommodation.
