Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2018 to Aug. 31, 2020. Ratified on June 1, 2019. Signed on June 28, 2019.
Shift premium: $0.75 per hour to employees assigned who work afternoon or night shift (excluding overtime).
Paid holidays: 12 days. If Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve are on working day, employees will receive one-half day off. All employees will be given one-half day off during Stampede Week.
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month to start, 1.25 days per month, maximum 15 days, after 1 year, 1.67 days per month, maximum 20 days, after 8 years, 2.08 days per month, maximum 25 days, after 18 years, 2.5 days per month, maximum 30 days, after 25 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work beyond normal workday or normal work week; double time after 2 hours of overtime. Double time for all overtime work after midnight, before 7 a.m. and on Sundays. Time and one-half for all work on regular day off, double time after 2 hours of work.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Employer will contribute $350 per year for personal health spending account. Unused balance may be carried forward to next plan year but carry-forward amount must be used by end of that year or it will be lost. Effective Jan. 1, 2020: $400 per year.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 2 days per month, maximum 24 days. May be accumulated, maximum 165 days.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: All employees shall be required to participate in Local Authorities Board Pension Plan. All employees who retire under Local Authorities Board Pension Plan regulations will receive pro-rata retirement allowance: 1 month’s salary after 10 years’ service; 2 months’ salary after 15 years’ service; 2.5 months’ salary after 20 years’ service; 3 months’ salary after 25 years’ service.
Bereavement leave: 5 days (previously 3 days if funeral in Calgary; 5 days if funeral is outside city) for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, parents, legal guardians, grandparents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren (and respective spouses) of employee, of employee’s spouse or common-law spouse, other persons as may be approved).
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year for layoffs.
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ at overtime rates. Minimum 4 hours (time and one-half for 2 hours, double time for 2 hours) for emergency call-in overtime.
Probationary period: 6 months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for disciplinary documents.
