Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2020 to Aug. 31, 2021. Ratified on Aug. 27, 2020. Signed on Nov. 25, 2020.
Shift premium: $3 per hour for night shift. $2 per hour (in addition to night shift premium, if applicable) for hours of shift on Friday to hours of morning shift on Monday.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 80 hours for full-time staff, 60 hours for part-time staff after 1 year (with option of taking 1 week of vacation time after first 6 months of employment), 160 hours for full-time staff, 120 hours for part-time staff after 3 years, 200 hours for full-time staff, 150 hours for part-time staff after 5 years, 240 hours for full-time staff, 180 hours for part-time staff after 8 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 8 or 10 hours per day or 40 or 44 hours per week, whichever is greater.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Employer will contribute $700 per year for each full-time employee for health spending account (after 3 months of service); $450 per year for each part-time employee. Unused balance will be carried forward for total accumulation of 2 years. Employees leaving employer will forfeit any remaining balance.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: Wellness days: 120 hours per year, after probation. 90 hours per year thereafter. 50% of unused credits will be paid to employee upon retirement after 5 years of service.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employees may participate in group RRSP program (after probation). Employee will contribute minimum of $50 into program. Employer will contribute $400 per year to start; $600 per year after 3 years of service; $1,100 after 8 years of service. If employee contributes $100 per month, employer will contribute $600 per year to start; $800 per year after 3 years of service; $1,300 after 8 years of service. Employer will contribute $100 to employees opting into group RRSP program for first time.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, sibling, child, stepchild, parent, stepparent, grandparent, grandchild, foster-child, adopted child). 3 days for death in other family (father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt, son-in-law, uncle). 2 additional extra days if burial occurs outside province; 3 days if outside Canada and U.S.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs; 2 years when employee has been receiving STD and LTD benefits.
Call-in pay: Paid at overtime rate for actual time worked or 3 hours of pay at basic rate of pay, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: 480 hours worked from date of hire. Period may be extended by employer, maximum 160 additional hours of work.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months; 6 years for non-disciplinary records and information.
