Renewal agreement: Effective June 29, 2017, to Dec. 31, 2020. Signed on June 22, 2017.
Shift premium: Any work performed on a sixth or seventh shift by Home Depot driver covered by collective agreement will be paid premium of $5 per hour for all hours worked, maximum cumulative 45-hour total of work week. $1 per hour for lead hand.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 10 days or 4% to start, 15 days or 6% after 5 years, 20 days or 8% after 11 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work in excess of 60 hours per week for highway drivers; 9 hours per day or 45 hours per week for city drivers; 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week for cross-dock employees.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Canada Cartage Benefit Plan.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Teamsters National Pension Plan. Employer will contribute $0.45 per hour. Effective Jan. 1, 2019: $0.50 per hour.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, mother, father, son, daughter, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, stepsons, stepdaughters).
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months, 18 months after 5 years’ service.
Probationary period: 60 days.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 15 months.
Safety shoes: $150 per year for safety boots.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will pay $275 per year for uniform ordered from company-designated supplier. Employer will supply 6 pairs of gloves per year.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4% increase):
Class 1: $22.78 rising 3 steps to $23.70
Class 3: $20.93 rising 3 steps to $21.78
Class 5: $20.32 rising 3 steps to $21.14
Sample rates of mileage pay (current, after increase):
300 to 400 miles per stop: $0.50 rising 3 steps to$0.52
Over 400 miles return: $0.49 rising 3 steps to$0.51
300 to 400 miles per stop/over 400 miles return drop rate: $17 per stop
$350 signing bonus after ratification
Editor’s notes: Medical examination: Driver with 1 or more years of seniority who is required under motor vehicle regulations to undertake physical examination as condition of continuing to hold valid licence will have cost paid by employer, maximum $100. Industry fund: Employer will contribute $0.05 per hour to Teamsters Local Union No. 31 Industry Advancement Fund.
