Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2020. Signed on March 9, 2018.
Shift premium: 13% when employee performs duties of position at higher classification level on acting basis for at least 1 consecutive working day per year. $2.20 per hour (previously $2.05 per hour) for each hour worked after 4 p.m. for employee whose regular shift is worked after 4 p.m. and ends prior to 8 a.m. $1.90 per hour (previously $1.70 per hour) for hours worked prior to 8 a.m. and after 4 p.m. on weekend. 12% (previously 10%) for employees performing lead-hand duties, responsibilities. $0.50 per hour for employees who possess occupational first aid level 1 certification or any other first-aid certificate recognized by government of British Columbia. $0.65 per hour for employees who possess occupational first aid level 2 certification.
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 floater day. 
Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month or 15 days to start, 1 2/3 days per month or 20 days after 5 years, 2 1/12 days per month or 25 days after 10 years, 2 1/2 days per month or 30 days after 20 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7 1/2 hours per day or 37 1/2 hours per week, double time after 2 hours of overtime. Time and one-half for all work on first day of rest, double time for all work on second day of rest (provided employee worked on first day of rest). 
Meal allowance: After 3 hours of overtime immediately following scheduled hours of work, employee will be given allowance equal to lunch rate set out in meal allowance and incidental rate schedule as published by Treasury Board.
STD: 10 days at 100% salary, 75 days at 70% salary to start; 20 days at 100% salary, 60 days at 70% salary after 1 year; 30 days at 100% salary, 55 days at 70% salary after 5 years; 40 days at 100% salary, 45 days at 70% salary after 8 years; 85 days at 100% salary after 10 years.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepparent, foster-parent, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse resident with employee, dependent children, children of legal or common-law spouse, child, stepchild, ward, father or mother of employee’s spouse, grandchildren, grandparents, relative living with employee). 1 day for death of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent of spouse, brother-in-law of spouse, sister-in-law of spouse.
Seniority – recall rights: 6 months. 
Call-in pay: Paid out at applicable overtime rate for hours worked or equivalent to 4 hours’ pay at straight-time rate, if period of overtime worked is not contiguous to scheduled shift.
Probationary period: 3 months for bussers, janitors and grounds maintenance personnel; 6 months for all other personnel.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.
Safety shoes: Employer will pay 100% of cost for protective footwear. 1 pair of CSA-approved rubber boots, maximum $110, for janitors, bussers, janitorial supervisors, maintenance section workers. 1 pair CSA-approved safety footwear per year, maximum $225, for janitors, bussers, janitorial supervisors, maintenance-section workers, operations coordinators.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide suitable uniforms and protective clothing where necessary. Employer will make safety goggles available at work site for use when needed.

Editor’s notes: Standby pay: 1 hour’s pay for each 7 consecutive hours and 30 minutes or portion thereof on standby. Employee who reports for work will be paid greater of applicable overtime rate for time worked or minimum of 4 hours’ pay at hourly rate of pay (minimum will apply only first time employee is required to report for work during standby of 7 hours and 30 minutes). Training funds: Employer will allocate minimum $3,000 per year to provide training opportunities for employees.
