Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2022. Signed on May 1, 2019.
Shift premium: 15% for all work performed on shifts other than day shift in provinces which have adopted standard workweek other than 36 hours or 40 hours per week. 14% over applicable journeyperson’s hourly rate of pay for foremen. 10% for lead-hands (journeyperson who is designated as employee responsible for crew and its activities and where crew is comprised of 4 employees but less than 5 employees on specific project).
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus Heritage Day (Alberta only); Easter Monday, Friday before Labour Day, B.C. Day, Friday before B.C. Day (B.C. only).
Vacations with pay: 6% paid plus members of union should cooperate with employers in arranging vacations previous to vacation period.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 8 hours per day (Monday to Thursday) and after 4 hours of Friday. Double time after 2 hours of overtime.
Meal allowance: Employer will provide meal and 20-minute paid break to consume meal when employee has not been notified on previous day that employee will be required to work for more than 2 hours beyond normal quitting time.
Medical benefits: Each contractor will remit $0.05 per hour (to be taken out of wage package) for UA Canada’s Health and Wellness Program.
Bereavement leave: 3 months for death of member of family (husband, wife, parents, children, sister, brother, grandparents, mother-in-law, father-in-law).
Tool allowance: Employer will furnish all tools and equipment, including compulsory safety equipment.
Mileage: $31.95 per day when travelling more than 35-kilometre radius and maximum 80-kilometre radius from city hall in each city or town where shop is established; $81.65 per day when travelling more than 80-kilometre radius and 105-kilometre radius.

Editor’s notes: On-call: $100 for each week on call for employee who is designated on call, provided there are no call-ins for that week. National training fund: Each contractor will pay $0.10 per hour for all hours earned by all employees covered by collective agreement. Employer will also pay $0.13 per hour earned for courses into National Sprinkler Industry Joint Training and Apprenticeship Fund. Association industry fund: All employers will be assessed labour service fee of $0.04 per hour earned payable to Canadian Automatic Sprinkler Association; all employers will also contribute $0.21 per hour earned to association industry fund.
