Multiprovince (1,020 writers, story editors, story consultants) and the Writers Guild of Canada (WGC)

Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022. Signed on July 1, 2019.
Medical benefits: Producer will contribute amount equal to 5% of gross fees of each writer, story editor, story consultant who is guild member for insurance benefits.
Pension: Producer will contribute amount equal to 5% of gross fees of each writer, story editor, story consultant who is guild member for retirement benefits; each writer, story editor, story consultant will contribute 3% of gross fees.
Mileage: $0.30 per kilometre if writer, story editor, story consultant is required to use own automobile when producer requires writer, story editor, story consultant to travel more than 40 kilometres from writer’s, story editor’s, story consultant’s home and if transportation, accommodation and meals are not provided by producer.

Editor’s notes: Administration fee: Producer will assist in defraying cost of administering terms of agreement: 2% of gross fees, maximum $1,000 per production or episode to guild; 2.75% of gross fees, maximum of $2,850 per production (feature film, television movie, pilot, etc.) or $1,900 per episode of series directly to association. Travel expenses: $195 per diem to cover all expenses when staying in hotel, motel or similar accommodation in Canada.
