Whitehorse (70 teachers, psychologists, coordinators, drivers) and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC)

Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2020. Signed on Nov. 16, 2017.
Paid holidays: 12 days. 
Vacations with pay: 1 month of 61-day summer break period.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7.5 hours per 24-hour period or 37.5 hours per week. May be banked, maximum 37.5 hours. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Employees will have access to self-directed benefit of $1,250 per employee per year. 
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 1.5 days per month, maximum 795 hours.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employee will contribute 3% for group RSP, employer will contribute 4%. Effective July 1, 2018: Employer will match employee contributions, maximum 4.25% for employees who have reached 5 years of service. Effective July 1, 2019: Employer will match employee contributions, maximum 4.5% for employees who have reached 5 years of service.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in family (parent, stepparent, foster-parent, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, stepsibling, partner, spouse, child, child to whom employee stands in place of parent, partner of employee’s child, including child to whom employee stands in place of parent, partner’s parent or sibling, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, any other person residing with employee). Additional 2 days if employee must travel outside Whitehorse.
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year. 
Probationary period: 9 months. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
Severance: After 10 years of service: 1 day’s pay multiplied by number of years of service. After 20 years of service: 1.5 day’s pay multiplied by number of years of service.

Teacher (BEd or degree related to position)/diagnostic coordinator: $61,670 rising 3 steps to $64,004
Speech/language pathologist (relevant master’s degree)/physiotherapist (relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree)/occupational therapist (relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree)/developmental therapist (relevant bachelor’s degree): $64,344 rising 3 steps to $66,779
Program coordinator (relevant bachelor’s degree): $71,726 rising 3 steps to $74,441
Psychologist (registered): $ 81,319 rising 3 steps to $84,397
Early childhood therapy assistant (ECD)/administrative assistant: $43,182 rising 3 steps to $44,816
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 3.8% increase):
Driver: $26.46 rising 3 steps to $27.46
Driver assistant: $17.27 rising 3 steps to $17.92
Editor’s notes: Work-related travel expenses: $15.20 for breakfast, $15.20 for lunch, $45.75 for dinner inside Yukon. $13.60 for breakfast, $12.85 for lunch, $36.30 for dinner outside Yukon. $11.50 per day for incidentals. Community allowance: $50 bi-weekly for employees who reside and work outside of Whitehorse area. Yukon bonus: $800 per year after 1 year of service; $900 per year after 5 years of service; $1,050 per year after 7 years of service. Long-service bonus: 2% of annual earnings paid to employee who has reached 10, 15, 20, 25 years of seniority.
