Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2023. Signed on Dec. 11, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2019: 1.7%

Effective April 1, 2020: 1.7%

Effective April 1, 2021: 1.6%

Effective April 1, 2022: 1.5%

Shift premium: $1.04 per hour (previously $1 per hour) for employees working either D shift (noon to 8 p.m.) or N shift (midnight to 8 a.m.). Effective April 1, 2021: $1.06 per hour. Effective April 1, 2022: $1.08 per hour. $1.34 per hour (previously $1.32 per hour) for all hours worked between 4 p.m. to midnight. Effective April 1, 2021: $1.36 per hour. Effective April 1, 2022: $1.38 per hour. $1.40 per hour (previously $1.38 per hour) for all hours worked between midnight and 8 a.m. Effective April 1, 2021: $1.42 per hour. Effective April 1, 2022: $1.44 per hour. $2.58 per hour (previously $2.54 per hour) will be paid for Sunday regular hours of work. Effective April 1, 2021: $2.62 per hour. Effective April 1, 2022: $2.66 per hour. Water/wastewater certificate premiums: $3.78 per hour rising 4 steps to $4.03 per hour for level 4. $2 per hour rising 4 steps to $2.12 per hour for level 3. $1 per hour rising 4 steps to $1.08 per hour for level 2.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 3 weeks or 6% to start, 4 weeks or 8% after 4 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 9 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 19 years, 7 weeks or 14% after 24 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for work outside normal working hours. Double time for work on Sunday, minimum 4 hours of pay. Time and one-half for work on Saturday; double time for work on Sunday for employees in truck driver/1-person multi-function classifications.

Meal allowance: Employer will provide $12.75 (previously $12.54) to purchase meal when employee is called upon to perform more than 2 hours of overtime work continuous with regular scheduled shift; plus additional $12.75 for second meal after 5 additional hours of overtime. Effective April 1, 2021: $12.95. Effective April 1, 2022: $13.14. $12.75 (previously $12.54) for each 5 continuous hours of work for employees called upon to perform work not continuous with regular scheduled shift and who are called out prior to 6 a.m. or after 11 p.m., to report for work. Effective April 1, 2021: $12.95. Effective April 1, 2022: $13.14.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Canada Life (or equivalent) comprehensive extended health care.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Canada Life (or equivalent) dental plan no. 9.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $420 every 24 months. 1 eye examination every 24 months, maximum $90.

Paramedical: $330 per year for chiropractor. $290 per year for massage therapist. $330 per year, then $13.40 per visit, maximum $2,000 per year for physiotherapist including athletic therapist, counselling services provided by psychotherapist, psychologist, social worker with certification. $198 each per year for osteopath, podiatrist/chiropodist, naturopath, nutritional counselling by dietician.

Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2 times basic annual earnings.

Pension: Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS).

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (father, stepfather, mother, stepmother, spouse, bona fide common-law spouse, fiancé(e), brother, sister, son, stepson, daughter, stepdaughter, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren); 2 additional days for death of spouse, bona fide common-law spouse, fiancé(e), child. 3 days for death of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law (third day will be deducted from sick leave credits). Additional 2 days if death requires employee to travel more than 200 kilometres (1-way) to attend service.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months to start; 24 months after 5 years of service.

Probationary period: 3 months from date of hiring.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for any notice of disciplinary action; 9 months for any step 1 or step 2 notices.

Safety shoes: $258.57 per year (previously $254.25 per year) for safety footwear. Effective April 1, 2021: $262.71 per year. Effective April 1, 2022: $266.65 per year. Additional $258.57 per year (previously $254.25 per year) for employees who work with hot mix asphalt. Effective April 1, 2021: $262.71 per year. Effective April 1, 2022: $266.65 per year.

Uniforms/clothing: During wet or inclement weather, rubber suits, hats, boots will be supplied.

Tool allowance: $468.02 per year to each employee permanently classified as: body shop lead-hand, licenced electrician, auto body repairer, licenced welder/fitter/fabricator, plants serviceperson, maintenance operator (electrician/instrument technician), instrument technician, maintenance operator (mechanical), maintenance operator (diesel).

Standby duty for emergency situations: Time and one-half for all hours worked with guaranteed minimum of 4 hours’ pay for 4 hours of work or less (subject to maximum 8 hours’ pay at time and one-half for 3 or more calls in any day shift, afternoon shift or night shift).
