Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2014, to Dec. 31, 2016. 

Wage adjustments: 
Effective Jan. 1, 2015: 2.2%
Effective Jan. 1, 2016: 2%

Shift premium: $1.25 per hour when at least 50% of shift falls between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. 

Paid holidays: 11 days. Double time for all hours worked on a named holiday. 

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start (pro rated in the 1st year), 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 6 years, 5 weeks after 13 years, 6 weeks after 22 years. 

Overtime: Double time for all hours worked in excess of 40 per week. Time may be taken off in lieu of pay at the rate of time and one-half. 

Sick leave: 0.0692 hours earned per each regular hour paid, up to maximum equivalent of 200 days. 

LTD: 70% of employee’s first $3,000 of monthly salary, plus additional 50% of salary in excess of $3,000, up to $4,500 per month. 

AD&D: Double annual salary up to $250,000. 

Life insurance: Double annual salary up to $250,000. $10,000 per spouse, $5,000 per child. 

Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan. No other details available. 

Bereavement leave: 3 days for the death of an employee’s immediate family member. That includes grandparent, parent, sibling, spouse of sibling, spouse, child, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild and the grandparent, parent and sibling of spouse. Up to 2 additional days for the death of a spouse, child, parent, grandparent or grandchild.  

Seniority – recall rights: 1 year. 

Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay at double time. $270 when employee is required to be on standby for a consecutive 7 days. $2.11 per hour for all other standby requirements. $60 per statutory holiday employee is required to be on standby or $2.50 per hour. 

Probationary period: 1,000 hours. 

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years. 

Safety shoes: $150 per year  for permanent employees. $50 per year for employees working directly with asphalt or tack oil used in road construction. $150 in 1st year for temporary employees, $75 per year after that. Unused entitlement to carry over up to $300. 

Uniforms/clothing: Protective clothing – rubber boots, rain suits, gloves, mitts supplied as required. 2 pairs of coveralls per year to facility operators, maintenance and utility workers, gas field labourers, gas field operators, gas technicians, employees working on equipment. 5 pairs of summer coveralls, 1 winter jacket, 1 pair of salopettes for solid waste collection employees. Hair nets as required and 5 wash-and-wear tops for senior kitchen staff. 

Tool allowance: $37.50 per month for heavy duty mechanics. $8.33 per month for fleet service workers.
