Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023. Ratified on Nov. 21, 2019. Signed on May 19, 2020.

Shift premium: $1 per hour for all shifts beginning between 1:59 p.m. and 4:59 a.m. $1.25 per hour for lead-hands.

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days, to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 25 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day; double time after 2 hours of overtime. No employee will be required to work overtime in excess of 4 hours per week. Overtime earned may be banked, maximum 80 hours per year. May be taken as time off in lieu. Any accumulated banked overtime from prior year not taken by Dec. 31 of following year will be paid out to employee. .

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Prairie Teamsters Health and Welfare Plan.

Pension: Employer will contribute $3.25 per hour (previously $3 per hour) for all full-time employees into Prairie Teamsters Pension Plan.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, adult interdependent partner, common-law partner, children (and partner/spouse), current or former foster-children (and partner/spouse), current or former wards, parents, stepparents, current or former guardians (and partner/spouse), current or former foster-parents, siblings, half-siblings, stepsiblings (and partner/spouse), grandchildren, stepgrandchildren (and partner/spouse), grandparents, stepgrandparents, aunts, uncles, stepaunts, stepuncles (and partner/spouse), nieces, nephews (and partner/spouse), person employee isn’t related to but considers to be like close relative). 1 additional day for travel greater than 600 miles round-trip.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs; additional 12 months when layoff is direct result of labour dispute involving another company or when employee has accrued 5 years or more of seniority. 90 calendar days when employee receives leave of absence to take position within company that is beyond sphere of bargaining unit.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for written reprimands or warning letters.

Safety shoes: $175 per year (previously $150 per year) for CSA-approved safety boots (any excess may be used to purchase gloves, coveralls, any other personal work gear). May be carried over for maximum 2 years.

Uniforms/clothing: Employee physically handling fish, meat, frozen butter, hides, creosoted commodities, spun glass, lamp black, barbed wire, acids, dirty oil drums, ore concentrates, will be provided with gloves, rubber or leather aprons, coveralls or smocks.

Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 9% increase):

Full-time dock personnel: $23.55 rising 4 steps to $25.65

Part-time dock personnel: $19.80 rising 4 steps to $21.90

Editor’s notes: Physical examinations: If employer requires that job applicants have physical examination prior to hiring, examination will be made by doctor chosen by employer and cost of examination will be borne by employer.
