Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2019 to Aug. 31, 2021. Ratified on Feb. 20, 2020. Signed on April 23, 2020.

Shift premium: $1 per hour when accountant position, transportation services coordinator achieves professional certification in area of duties. $2 per hour for each hour worked on weekend or statutory holiday.

Paid holidays: 12 days plus 1 day of leave over Christmas period, with date as determined by employer in consultation with union. Where Easter Monday is regular teaching day for schools, time off in lieu will be given on Monday of spring break. Where Remembrance Day falls on day that is normal day off for employee, 1 day off in lieu for named holiday will occur during Christmas break or at another time mutually agreeable between employee and employer.

Vacations with pay: Number of months worked divided by 12 times 10 days or 4% to start, 15 days or 6% after 1 year, 17.5 days after 5 years, 20 days after 10 years, 22.5 days after 15 years, 30 days after 25 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. May be taken as time off in lieu, maximum 24 hours of accumulation. Any accumulated time not scheduled to be taken off by end of Aug. 31 of each year will be paid out.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for ASEBP (Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan) extended health care, plan 1. Employees will participate in employer’s health spending account, maximum benefit of $325 per year.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for ASEBP dental, plan 3.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for ASEBP visions care, plan 3.

Sick leave: 2 days per month, maximum accumulation of 75 workdays.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for ASEBP life, schedule 2.

Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, parent, legal guardian, brother, sister, parents of spouse, grandparents, grandchildren, grandparents of spouse, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, relative who is a member of employee’s household. 1 day to attend funeral of aunts, uncles of employee or spouse; nieces or nephews of employee or spouse. One-half day leave to attend funeral as pallbearer.

Seniority – recall rights: 7 months for layoffs or worker’s compensation leave; 18 months when employee is absent from work because of illness or injury.

Probationary period: 3 months of shifts worked.

Editor’s notes: Personal leave: Employee will be entitled to 3 days of personal leave per year, at 50% pay, provided that written approval has been granted by employer prior to leave being utilized; leave will not be used for extension of vacation or paid holiday time unless prior written approval has been obtained from employer. Professional development: Employer will provide minimum 2 days of professional development for staff (at least 1 day will be organized in consultation with liaison committee).
