Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 15, 2022 to Aug. 31, 2025. Signed on Nov. 15, 2022.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Sept. 1, 2021: 2.5%

Effective Sept. 1, 2022: 2.5%

Effective Sept. 1, 2023: 3%

Effective Sept. 1, 2024: 3%

Shift premium: $50 per pay for employees considered as senior employees in their department who are responsible for establishing schedule for employees. 10% for employee who trains another employee, for hours scheduled as training.

Paid holidays: 12 days, including January 2, La Fete Nationale.

Vacations with pay: 5/6 days per month or 4% to start, 20 days or 8% after 12 months, 25 days of 10% after 84 months.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond employee’s daily work schedule or more than 70 hours in 2-week period. Double time for all hours worked after 11 hours per day for technical and on-air employees (not including voiced-track hours). May be taken as time off in lieu; if accumulated lieu time is not taken within vacation year, employer can pay employee for accumulated time.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Pension: Employer will match 100% of basic group RRSP contribution, maximum employer contribution of 5% (employee’s contribution could be more than 5%).

Seniority – recall rights: 90 days after layoff to start; 270 days after 1 year of service; 365 days after 5 years of service.

Call-in pay: Double time, minimum 4 hours of work.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for notice of reprimand or suspension.

Severance: 1 week’s pay per year of service to start; 1 week’s pay per 6 months of employment after 7 years of service. Minimum 4 weeks of pay, maximum 26 weeks of pay.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply protective clothing, safety devices where required.

Editor’s notes: On-call: When technical engineer or broadcast and IT technician is on-call on any day off, employee will be paid 7.5 hours at 20% of regular rate for each occasion. Remotes: Minimum $375 (previously $350) for all commercial remotes of 4 hours. Out-of-town assignments: $15 for breakfast; $20 for lunch; $30 for dinner; $20 for subsequent meal. Paid education leave program: Employer will pay $500 into special fund for Unifor paid education leave program.
