Renewal agreement: July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2026.
Wage adjustments:
2023: 3%
2024: 3%
2025: 3%
Shift premium: $1.50 per hour for all hours worked on shift where majority of hours fall between 3 p.m. and midnight. $2.25 per hour for all hours worked on shift where majority of hours fall between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. $3.50 per hour for regular shift on Saturday or Sunday.
Paid holidays: 12 days including half-days on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Vacations with pay: 22 working days after 1 year, 25 working days after 14 years. On 25th anniversary date, an additional 10 working days for that year only.
Overtime: Time-and-a-half for authorized work in excess of normal work week for full-time employees, after 35 hours in a week for part-time employees.
Meal allowance: $20 for employees working 2.5 hours or more of overtime.
Medical Benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums for Supplementary Medical Insurance, 100% of OHIP.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for University Dental Plan for coverage of 85% reimbursement for expenses up to $2,000 per year per insured person, 85% of major restorative treatment up to $2,500 per year, and 50% of orthodontic treatment up to $2,500 for lifetime per insured person.
Vision: Employer pays 80% of cost of coverage for vision care and eye exams up to $550 per insured person every 24 months.
Long-term disability: Employer pays 100% of premiums for LTD plan.
Alcohol and substance abuse policy:
Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums for Group Life Insurance Plan.
Pension: Employer and employees contribute to Carleton University Retirement Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 paid days for death of parent, step-parent, foster parent, sibling, spouse, child, step-child, ward, foster child, grandchild, grandparent, parent-in-law, or relative permanently residing in employee’s household. 3 paid days for death of sibling-in-law, child-in-law, aunt, uncle, nephew, niece, or step-grandparent.
Sick leave: 1 ½ days per month cumulative to end of year to start. After one year, 130 days at full salary.
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year.
Call-in pay: The greater of 4 hours at straight time or overtime rate for hours worked for call-in outside of normal working hours.
Probationary period: 6 months. May be extended up to 3 additional months with mutual consent.
Severance: 10 months after more than 20 years of service, 8 months after 15 years, 7 months after 12 years, 6 months after 10 years, 6 months after 8 years, 5 months after 6 years, 3 months after 4 years, 2 months for 4 years or less.
