Collective agreement: Ontario Government (Crown in Right of Ontario)

Renewal agreement: January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2026. 

Wage adjustments: 

2023: 4.75% 
2024: 4.5% 
2025: 2.75% 
2026: 2.75% 

Shift premium: $0.98 per hour for all hours worked at or after 4 p.m. and before 5 a.m. 2% of First Class Constable rate for Coach Officer who trains a Probationary Constable, Amalgamated Officer, or Experienced Police Officer. 3% of First Class Constable base rate for any uniformed First Class Constable with 5 years of service on front-line patrol duties. 

Paid holidays: 12 days. 

Vacations with pay: 1 ¼ days per month after 6 months, 1 2/3 days per month after 8 years, 2-1/12 days pre month after 15 years, 2 ½ days per month after 24 years, 2-11/12 days per month after 30 years.  

Overtime: Time-and-a-half for hours worked immediately after scheduled work period, any work period after leaving place of employment (minimum 4 hours), any period of work that is not a scheduled work day (minimum 4 hours), or on a full day of leave (minimum 8 hours). Time-and-a-half for time attending court between scheduled work periods ending at 3 a.m. or thereafter. 2.5x hourly rate when required to report for any period of work on or during vacation leave period (minimum 16 hours). 

Short-term disability: When employee is absent by reason of an injury or occupational disease for which a workers’ compensation claim is made, salary shall continue for up to 30 days. Where an award is made, salary shall continue for the duration of receipt of WSIB benefits. 

Long-term disability: Employer pays 100% of premium for Long-Term Income Protection Plan. 

Bereavement leave: 3 paid days for death of spouse, common-law spouse, same-sex spouse or partner, parent, step-parent, parent-in-law, child, child-in-law, step-child, sibling, step-sibling, sibling-in-law, ward, guardian, step-grandparent, step-grandchild, grandchild, grandparent, or spouse’s grandparent. 1 paid day for death of aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew. 
 
Sick leave: 6 working days of full pay per year, plus 124 working days at 75% of regular salary. 

Probationary period: 1 year. 

Severance: 1 week’s salary for each year of continuous service (minimum 5 years of continuous service) for employees appointed on or before Dec. 31, 2016. 

Uniforms/clothing: Uniforms or civilian clothing soiled in performing duties under conditions not normally encountered shall be cleaned at employer’s expense. 

Mileage: Southern Ontario: $0.40/km (0-10,700 km), $0.24/km (over 10,700 km). Northern Ontario: $0.41/km, $0.25/km respectively. 

Sample rates of pay:  

Cadet: $22.86 (2023) rising in 3 steps to $25.22 (2026). 
Constable, 5th class:  $29.37 (2023) rising in 3 steps to $32.40 (2026). 
Constable, 1st class: $53.50 (2023) rising in 3 steps to  $59.03 (2026). 
Sergeant: $56.17-$60.45 (2023) rising in 3 steps to  $61.97-$66.70 (2026). 
Staff sergeant: $63.13-$68.48 (2023) rising in 3 steps to $69.65-$75.55 (2026). 
Sergeant major: $70.08 (2023) rising in 3 steps to $77.32 (2026). 
Staff sergeant – detachment commander 1: $68.05-$73.82 (2023) rising in 3 steps to $75.08-$81.44 (2026).  

Duration posting: 2 years $40,000, 3 years $32,500, 4 years $20,000, 5 years $10,000. Renewal incentives for subsequent terms $45,000 to $28,414.
