Renewal agreement: April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2026.
Wage adjustments:
2022: 3.8%
2023: 3%
2024: 3%
2025: 3%
Shift premium: $0.85 per hour for employees whose normal work is continuously conducted on compressed shifts commencing between 1 p.m. and 1 a.m. $0.52 per hour for rotating shift work. $0.53 per hour for acting in the role of Coach Officer.
Paid holidays: 12 days including 2 floater days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 16 years, 6 weeks after 22 years.
Overtime: Double-time for all accumulated work over regularly scheduled working hours and on normal off-days. Can be taken as lieu time up to 120 hours or payment.
Medical Benefits: Employer pays 100% of Ontario Health Premium and premiums for Healthcare Plan including psychological services, hearing aids, paramedical services, prescription drugs, orthotics.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for full coverage of preventative services, periodontal and endodontic services, half coverage of dentures and orthodontic services (lifetime maximum $4,000), and half coverage of major restorative services (lifetime maximum of $2,500).
Vision: $500 every 2 years for glasses and eye exam.
Short-term disability: 26 weeks, commencing on the 4th day of absence due to sickness or injury with medical documentation. 100% of salary for the first 2 days, then 75% of salary for 26 weeks. After 26 weeks, application can be made for further 15 weeks under EI.
Long-term disability: 60% of regular wages to a monthly maximum of $3,150.
Life insurance: All regular status employees under 65 participate in Basic Group Life Insurance plan equal to 2 times basic annual salary. Cost is shared in equal basis between employee and employer.
Bereavement leave: 5 paid days for death of spouse, child, or step-child. 3 paid days for death of parent, step-parent, sibling, step-sibling, parent-in-law, grandparent, or grandchild.
Sick leave: Off duty for more than 3 days per calendar year may be required to produce a doctor’s certificate.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay at overtime rate.
Probationary period: 10 months
Safety shoes: All uniform employees receive an annual voucher for the purchase of footwear from designated suppliers.
Uniforms/clothing: Uniform employees receive 2 pairs of trousers and 4 shirts and 100 cleaning vouchers.
Sample rates of pay:
Transit fare inspector: $32.40-$40-50 (2022) rising in 3 steps to $35.40-$44.26 (2025).
Protective services guard: $30.75-$38.45 (2022) rising in 3 steps to $33.60-$42.01 (2025).
Transit enforcement officer: $38.20-$47.75 (2022) rising in 3 steps to $41.75-$52.18 (2025).
