Renewal agreement: September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2026.
Wage adjustments:
2022: 3%
2023: 3%
2024: 2.7%
2025: 2.5%
Paid holidays: Up to 3 paid days per school year for the observance of faith days for a sincerely held religious belief or for Indigenous employees for the purposes of voting in elections as indicated by self-governing Indigenous authority where working hours do not otherwise provide for 3 consecutive hours free from work.
Medical Benefits: Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario Employee Life and Health Trust. Employer funds $6,424.69 per full-time equivalent employee in 2025, $6,681.68 in 2026.
Short-term disability: 120 days at 90% of salary starting each September for full-time employees. Pro-rated for less than full-time employees.
Long-term disability: Employer shall co-operate in the administration of the LTD plan, deducting premiums and remitting to the carrier on behalf of the employees.
Bereavement leave: 3 paid days for death of parent, child, spouse, grandparent, sibling, or parent-in-law. 1 paid day for a funeral. Up to 5 paid days for severe illness or death of spouse, parent, child, or same-sex partner.
Sick leave: 11 days at 100% of salary per school year. Pro-rated for less than full-time employees. Unused sick leave from employee’s last year worked can be used to top up STD to 100%.
Probationary period: 30 days taught in a 2-year period or 20 days taught in a 1-year period.
Sample rates of pay:
Short-term assignments: $270.60 per day (2022) rising in 3 steps to $293.54 per day (2025).
Long-term occasional teachers: In accordance with the employer’s salary grid.
