Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2025. Signed on Jan. 31, 2023.

Shift premium: $1 per hour when working on shifts other than normal day shifts for journeyman electricians. $0.50 per hour when working on shifts other than normal day shifts for apprentices (all classifications).

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 44 hours per week.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for group insurance plan, underwritten by Merit Contractors Assoc. (OpenCircle).

Pension: Employer will contribute to RBC Merit RRSP on behalf of employees ($0.50 per hour for apprentices; $1 per hour for journeymen).

Bereavement leave: 1 day to attend funeral for death immediate family (husband, wife, father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, guardian, mother-in-law, father-in-law).

Mileage: $0.58 per kilometre when using personal vehicle for employer.

Journeyman electrician $34.93

Sub-foreman: $36.68

Foreman: $38.42

Apprentices

Fourth-year apprentice (80% of journeyman rate): $27.94

Third-year apprentice (70% of journeyman rate): $24.45

Second-year apprentice (60% of journeyman rate): $20.96

First-year apprentice (50% of journeyman rate): $17.47

Editor’s notes: Membership fee: $5 payable by each employee initially. Each employee will pay $5 monthly on first day of every month, exclusive of that month during which employee joined association and paid initial membership fee
