Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2018, to Dec. 31, 2021. Signed on Jan. 1, 2018. 
Wage adjustments: 
Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 2.5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 2.5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 2.5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 2.5%
Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for all hours worked (when scheduled) at 3 p.m. or later. Effective Jan. 1, 2020: $0.55 per hour. $0.70 per hour for all hours worked (when scheduled) at 11 p.m. or later. Effective Jan. 1, 2020: $0.80 per hour. $0.50 per hour for all hours as working lead-hand.
Paid holidays: 11 days. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 40 hours per week (50 hours per week for long-haul tractor-trailer drivers). 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums. 
AD&D: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums for coverage of $50,000 per employee (previously $35,000 per employee), $10,000 per spouse, $5,000 per child.
Life insurance: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums for coverage of $50,000 per employee (previously $35,000 per employee), $10,000 per spouse, $5,000 per child.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, common-law partner, child (includes still-born child, child of spouse who currently resides with employee). 3 days for death in immediate family (mother, father, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, grandchildren, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, current stepparents). 1 day for death of brother-in-law, sister-in-law. 8 hours for employees other than immediate family who are required to serve as pallbearers (excluding honorary pallbearers).
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. 
Probationary period: 600 hours worked (must be completed within 18 months of date of hire or within subsequent calendar year or new probationary period will begin). 
Safety shoes: Employer will provide 50% less than cost, maximum $65 (previously $60) for 2 pairs of CSA-approved safety boots. Effective 2020: $70. Effective 2021: $75. For employees in sealing room, fishmeal, all maintenance departments, wet-end workers, employer will provide 50% less than cost, maximum $65 (previously $60) for 4 pairs of CSA-approved safety boots. Effective 2020: $70. Effective 2021: $75.
Uniforms/clothing: All employees working in food-processing areas will be provided 1 free uniform or smock per year. Employee will be required to purchase additional uniforms or smocks as required by employer. Employees in other areas will be provided up to 1 free uniform per year upon purchase of uniform. Baader machine operators will receive nylon gloves, rubber gloves as required and 2 aprons every 100 department-days worked. Precooker workers, clean-up crew, fishmeal, wet-end workers will receive rubber boots, rubber gloves when worn-out pair is turned in. When employees work in area of abnormally high noise levels, employer will supply 5 pairs of hearing protection for each 100 days worked. Snack-line workers will receive 2 aprons, 5 pairs of nylon gloves each 100 department-days worked. Employer will provide wet-end, fishmeal employees oil clothes or rain gear of enduring quality.
Tool allowance: Employer will pay 50% replacement cost for any tool lost or stolen, maximum $150 per year, for employees required to use own hand tools for work provided value of tools used by employee exceeds $150.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after increase):
Probationary packers (first 80 hours worked): $11.25 + $0.75
Probationary packers (80 to 160 hours worked): $11.25 + $0.50
Qualified packers (guaranteed minimum hourly rate): $11.25
Students (minimum wage): $11.25

Editor’s notes: Licensing: In view of provincial licensing requirements for electricians, welders, stationary engineers, employer will pay annual licensing fees for those employed in these trades. Standby pay: Any maintenance employee who is not normally required to wear pager or cellphone and is asked to be on standby during non-scheduled hours and is not permitted to leave home or community, will be guaranteed minimum of 1 hour of pay for duration of shift covered.
