Provincewide, Manitoba (1,100 workers, carpenters) and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (CLC)

Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2016, to April 30, 2020. Signed on May 1, 2016.
Wage adjustments: 
Effective May 1, 2017: $0.90 per hour (journeyman, lead  hand), $1.13 per hour (foreman)
Effective May 1, 2018: $1.05 per hour (journeyman, lead  hand), $1.23 per hour (foreman)
Effective May 1, 2019: $1.10 per hour (journeyman, lead  hand), $1.30 per hour (foreman)
Shift premium: 1.142 times the regular rate for any hours on a shift past midnight and all hours of a shift where 4 or more hours are between midnight and 6 a.m. Carpenter foreman receives 18% above qualified journeyman rate. Lead hand receives $2 per hour above base journeyman rate.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 6% per hour. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked beyond 8 in a shift; double-time for hours worked beyond 10 in one day. Time and one-half on Saturdays up to 8 hours; double time for hours beyond 8 on Saturday. Double-time for all hours worked on Sundays and holidays.
Meal allowance: $15 after 2 overtime hours are worked if more than 1 hour remains and every 4 hours thereafter.
Medical benefits: Employer contributes $0.83 per employee hour worked to the Local Union 343 Welfare Trust Fund. Employee contributes $0.33 per hour worked.
Pension: Employer contributes $3.69 per employee hour worked to Carpentry Trade Pension Trust Fund. Employee contributes $1.16 per hour worked, rising to $1.31 on May 1, 2019.
Bereavement leave: Up to 7 calendar days for death of immediate family member (including in-laws).
Tool allowance: Employer will replace tools it supplies when broken, worn, destroyed by fire, stolen.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current):
Journeyman carpenter: $34.58
Journeyman carpenter (enhanced): $35.58
Lead hand: $36.58
Lead hand (enhanced): $37.48
Foreman: $40.80
Foreman (enhanced): $41.70
First-year apprentice: 55% of journeyman
Second-year apprentice: 65% of journeyman
Third-year apprentice: 75% of journeyman
Fourth-year apprentice: 90% of journeyman
Editor’s notes: Height premium: 4% per cent for employees working on swing stages or bosun chairs. Hearing test services: The union will ensure that all employees will have their hearing tested once per year on company time.
