Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2023. Signed on Dec. 20, 2017.
Paid holidays: 10 days. 
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 8 days to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 22 years. Additional week (40 hours) of personal time off for each permanent operator. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. May be banked as time off in lieu, maximum 80 hours per year. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Major dental work (including but not limited to crowns/implants/dentures/bridgework), subject to 50% coinsurance, lifetime maximum $2,500 per insured.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $550 every 24 months (previously $525 every 24 months), including eye examination. Effective July 1, 2020: $600 every 24 months. Effective July 1, 2022: $650 every 24 months. Eye examination: Effective Dec. 1, 2012: Maximum $100 every 24 months. Effective Jan. 1, 2019: Maximum $150 every 24 months.
Paramedical: $600 per year (previously $800 per year) for physiotherapist, clinical psychologist, chiropractor, osteopath, chiropodist, podiatrist, naturopath/homeopath, speech pathologist, masseur, dietician (where prior authorization by physician).
LTD: Coverage of 75% of monthly income, maximum $8,000. Payable after 17 weeks. 
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2-times annual salary, maximum $200,000.
Pension: Employer will enroll eligible members in Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System.
Bereavement leave: 8 days for death of spouse, same-sex partner, father, mother, children, stepfather, stepmother, stepchildren. 4 days for death of sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandchild. 1 day for death of grandparents-in-law, aunts, uncles, niece, nephew. 1 additional day for travel more than 160 kilometres from City of Peterborough.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay at time and one-half regular hourly rate for operators. Minimum 2 hours’ pay at time and one-half regular hourly rate for vehicle-service employees. 
Probationary period: 540 hours of work. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
Safety shoes: $200 per year for appropriate CSA-approved safety footwear. 
Uniforms/clothing: When hired, each operator will be provided with 1 full uniform issue on completion of probation period: 1 fleece pull-over, one 3-in-1 jacket or bomber jacket, 3 pair of pants (shorts optional), 1 parka (optional), 4 shirts, 2 ties (optional), 1 sweater or vest, ballcap or toque (optional). Vehicle-service employees will be issued: 3 T-shirts, 2 pairs of uniform trousers, 3 uniform shirts, 1 medium-weight windbreaker, 1 winter parka. Coveralls as required.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 11.8% increase): 
Permanent operator (includes spare board): $27.73 rising 6 steps to $31.01
Extra board operators/extra vehicle service personnel/casual employees (80% of permanent): $22.18 rising 6 steps to $24.81
Vehicle-service person: $27.73 rising 6 steps to $31.01
Equipment maintenance person: $28.13 rising 6 steps to $31.44
Training rate: $19.41 rising 6 steps to $21.71
Editor’s notes: Transportation: Free transportation on regularly scheduled City of Peterborough bus route will be provided for all employees but will not include employee’s families. Employees who have reached retirement age will be entitled to lifetime pass. Hearing aids: Lifetime maximum of $1,000 (previously $500) for employee only. $500 lifetime maximum for dependents. Licence renewal: MTO licence renewal medical examination, for each full-time operator, maximum $150.
