Durham Region transit workers in Ontario ratify new collective agreement

Deal includes wage increase, new overtime threshold: Unifor

Durham Region transit workers in Ontario, represented by Unifor, Local 222, ratified a new four-year collective agreement on Oct. 23 with PWTransit.

The new agreement includes an eight per cent wage increase over the term, a 42.5-hour threshold for overtime and enhanced benefits, according to Unifor.

Unifor, Local 222 was also able to secure a women’s advocate position, paid domestic violence leave and anti-harassment training, said the union.
