Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 2, 2017, to Aug. 31, 2019. Ratified on Oct. 28, 2017. Signed on Sept. 2, 2017.
Shift premium: $1 per hour for driver trainer. $25 per winter season for park-outs. $20.64 (previously $19.64) for bus transfers. $1 per hour for lead hand maintenance. $14.49 for training and safety meetings, online training. $2 per hour for all regularly scheduled hours worked between 6 p.m. and 4 a.m. for maintenance employees. $0.50 per hour for maintenance employees working as licensed mechanic, apprentice mechanic, shop serviceperson or yard serviceperson.
Paid holidays: 11 days. 
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks of 8% after 10 years. No-vacation blackout during last 2 weeks of August and first 2 weeks of September.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $300 per year (previously $100 per year) health spending account, funds may be carried over, maximum 1 year.
Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. 
Sick leave: 3 days per year. Unused days will be paid out at end of year. 
STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. 
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, parents, sisters, brothers, children, grandparents, grandchildren). 1 additional day should death occur outside Alberta or Canada.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months. 
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay.
Probationary period: 90 days. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide maintenance employees — on exchange and as-required basis — with winter coat. Maintenance employees will be provided with 5-per-week clean coveralls for in-shop and yard employees. Employer will supply gloves, company-approved safety glasses (prescription and non-prescription) and hard hats.
Tool allowance: Employer will pay each licensed mechanic, licensed bodyman A, licensed bodyman B, apprentices $100 per year for fire and theft insurance to cover cost of tool replacement.

Editor’s notes: Overnight meals: Overnight charters will be reimbursed $12 (previously $8) for breakfast, $15 (previously $10) for lunch and $20 (previously $12) for supper. Medical examinations: Employer will pay for medical and eye examinations incurred as requirement of hiring process.
