Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2016, to March 31, 2019. Ratified on June 20, 2017. Signed on Nov. 8, 2017.
Shift premium: $10 per shift when client-care assistant temporarily relieves or performs duties of client-care assistant 1. $0.40 per hour (previously $0.30 per hour) for working midnight shift between 11:45 p.m. and 8 a.m. $0.50 per hour (previously $0.40 per hour) for working weekend shift between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 11:45 p.m. Sunday. $4 per hour for employees who train newly hired employees to be shared equally if more than 1 employee is training. $10.56 per shift for acting supervisor (part-time staff). $10.24 per shift for acting supervisor (casual staff).
Paid holidays: 11 days. 
Vacations with pay: 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 5 years, 5 weeks after 10 years, 6 weeks after 15 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day. May be taken as time off within 3 months of when earned.
Sick leave: One-half day per month worked. May be accumulated, maximum 400 hours. 
Life insurance: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. 
Pension: Employer contributes 1.5% to company-provided pension plan, employee contributes 3%. 
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse, common-law spouse, child, stepchild, parent, grandparent, brother, sister, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, stepparent. Additional time for travel if required, maximum 5 days. 1 day for death of aunt, uncle, nephew, niece, cousin, brother-in-law, sister-in-law.
Call-in pay: The greater of applicable overtime rate for time worked or four hours of regular pay for time worked. 
Probationary period: 100 shifts. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months.

Client-care assistant 1: $3,112.18 rising 2 steps to $3,158.86

Client-care assistant: $2,886.66 rising 2 steps to $2,929.96
Head cook: $3,112.18 rising 2 steps to $3,158.86

Editor’s notes: Mental-health days: Employees will be given 2 mental-health days per year. If days are not used within year, they will not be paid out or carried over to following year. Vaccinations: Employer will pay for Hepatitis C and flu vaccinations, and strongly encourages all employees to have vaccinations. Staff meetings: Staff are required to attend regularly scheduled monthly staff meetings and will be paid $21 for attendance.
