Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2017, to April 30, 2020. Signed on May 18, 2018. 
Shift premium: $2.25 per hour work on weekends (relief engineers only). $1.45 per hour (previously $1.43 per hour) for acting-chief premiums third-class. $0.64 per hour (previously $0.62 per hour) for acting-chief premiums second-class. $0.80 for dual-trade. $0.80 per hour when operating engineer has certified ticket for another trade, Red-Seal-journeyman certificate and is licensed in Manitoba, and uses that trade as part of his work for employer.
Paid holidays: 12 days. 
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 2 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 14 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 21 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 or 12 hours per day or 40 hours per week, double time after first 2 hours of overtime. Time and one-half for all work on first day of rest, double time for all work on second day of rest. 
Meal allowance: $8 after working more than 2 hours of overtime or for unscheduled overtime on Saturday or Sunday.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for single coverage. Employees pay difference between single and family coverage. 
Dental: Employer pays majority of premiums less $15 per month, which will be paid by employees. 100% coverage for routine. 50% coverage for major. Maximum $1,100 per person per year (previously $500). 
Vision: $500 (previously $400) per employee every 2 years. 
Sick leave: 1 1/4 days per month, maximum 100 days. 
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 60% of employees’ gross earnings per month, after 105-day waiting period. 
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $20,000 for employees with less than 6 years’ seniority; $50,000 for employees after 6 years’ seniority.
Pension: Employees are eligible to join superannuation plan as outlined by Public Service Superannuation Act.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child. 4 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, brother, sister, ward of employee, common-law spouse, child of common-law spouse, grandchild, grandparents, mother-in-law, father-in-law). 1 day for death of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, relative residing in employee’s household.
Seniority – recall rights: 10 consecutive months for layoff, 60 shifts for transfer outside bargaining unit. 
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay at time and one-half. 
Probationary period: 720 hours. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year.
Severance: Greater of 1 week’s pay at employee’s regular hourly rate or 2 days’ pay at employee’s regular hourly rate for each year of completed employment.
Safety shoes: $750 per year (previously $500 per year) for CSA-approved safety footwear and for appropriate tools to be used at work.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide coveralls, shirts, slacks, parkas.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 15% increase):
Third-class: $38.48 rising 3 steps to $44.20
Second-class (all shifts) $39.31 rising 3 steps to $45.06
Relief engineer (acting-chief) $39.96 rising 3 steps to $45.74
Relief engineer (not acting-chief) $37.52 rising 3 steps to $43.20
Editor’s notes: Trade tickets: Employer will pay all costs of renewing trade tickets for each stationary engineer. Social justice fund: Employer will contribute $0.01 per hour worked to PSAC Social Justice Fund.
