Provincewide, B.C. (830 ship repair employees) and the Federal Government Dockyard Trades and Labour Council ((FGDT&LC)), Esquimalt West

Renewal agreement: Effective June 30, 2017, to Jan. 30, 2019. Signed on June 30, 2017.
Shift premium: $10 when employee is on ship under trials at sea or to ship proceeding to sea or to ship proceeding to sea on trials, by helicopter, yard craft or auxiliary vessel and transfers from helicopter, yard craft or auxiliary vessel to the ship undergoing sea trials. Additional $10 if employee leaves ship by similar transfer. 1/7 of employee’s hourly rate for each hour worked on third (evening) shift and 1/5 of employee’s hourly rate for each hour worked on first (night) shift.
Paid holidays: 11 days. 
Vacations with pay: 10 days to start, 15 after 1 year, 20 days after 8 years, 22 days after 15 years, 23 days after 17 years, 25 days after 18 years, 27 days after 25 years, 30 days after 28 years. Employees will be credited with 1-time entitlement of 24 hours of vacation following anniversary of employee’s first year of service.
Overtime: Double time for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 days per week, maximum 16 hours on regular workday and on day of rest. Triple time for all work after 16 hours in 24-hour period. 
Meal allowance: $12 for employee who works more than 3 hours of overtime and for every subsequent 4 hours thereafter. 
Sick leave: 10 hours per month.
Bereavement leave: 7 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, brother, sister, stepbrother, stepsister, spouse, common-law partner resident with employee, child, child of common-law partner, stepchild or ward of the employee, foster child, grandchild, grandparent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, relative residing in employee’s household). Additional 3 days for travel if required. 1 day for death of brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent of spouse.
Call-in pay: Greater of applicable overtime rate for time worked or 4 hours’ pay at straight-time rate.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.
Severance: 2 weeks’ pay for first year of employment, (3 weeks’ pay for employees with 10 years of service; 4 weeks’ pay for employees with 20 years of service) plus 1 week’s pay for each year of service on first lay off. 1 week’s pay for each year of service on subsequent layoff.
Uniforms/clothing: Riggers will be provided with high-visibility identification when signalling or hook tending on jetty or mobile cranes. Employer will provide rain and cold weather gear and protective clothing to employees exposed to chemical or physical conditions which are out of usual course.

Loss of personal effects: $2,500 when employee suffers loss of clothing or personal effects because of marine accident or disaster.
