Renewal agreement: Effective June 1, 2014, to March 31, 2017.

Wage adjustments:
Effective April 1, 2015: 1%

Shift premium: $2 per hour for all hours worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., provided at least 1 hour is worked during the period. $1 per hour for work between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Paid holidays: 11 days plus 1 floater. Time and one-half for work scheduled on the a statutory holiday.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 1 year. No carryover of vacation, except as approved by employer. Employees must take 1 week at minimum per year.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 12 per day or 120 hours in 14 days.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for the death of an employee’s spouse, common-law spouse, same-sex partner, parent, stepparent, parent-in-law, brother, sister, stepbrother, stepsister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son, daughter, stepchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law. 2 days for the death of a grandparent or grandchild. Up to 2 additional days if the funeral is beyond 300 km from employee’s residence.

Seniority – recall rights: 6 months.

Probationary period: 505 hours.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 3 years.

Sample rates of pay, current:
Licensed practical nurse: $24.50 per hour to start, rising to $29.78 after 4 years
Health-care aide (certified): $16.60 to start, rising to $20.19 after 4 years
Health-care aide: $16.14 to start, rising to $19.61 after 4 years
Health-care aide relief worker: $14.47 to start, rising to $17.58 after 4 years
Intern: $13.78
