GTAA, Unifor reach collective bargaining agreement

Increase of 2.5 per cent for next three years

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) and Unifor have agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement with its 1,050 employees at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The three-year agreement will be in effect from Aug. 1, 2016, to July 31, 2019.

The deal calls for 2.5 per cent annual increase in salary each year starting in Aug. 1, 2016, 2017 and 2018, said the union, as well as better group insurance and pensions, improvements to job postings and upgraded bullying and harassment policies.

Serving 41 million passengers in 2015, Toronto Pearson is Canada's largest airport and North America's second-largest international passenger airport, as measured by the total number of annual international passengers.
