Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2020. Signed on March 5, 2018.
Shift premium: $2.75 per hour for evening and night shifts. $1.75 per hour for all hours worked between midnight Friday and midnight Sunday. Effective April 1, 2019: $2.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 9.375 hours for each 162.5 hours worked to start, 15 days after 1 year, 20 days after 5 years, 25 days after 15 years, 30 days after 25 years. 1 year’s entitlement, plus additional 75 hours of vacation may be carried over to following year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after regular hours, double time after 7.5 hours of contiguous overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Sick leave: 11.25 hours for each 162.5 hours worked, maximum accumulation of 215 days.
LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Participation in plan is condition of employment.
Life insurance: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Participation in plan is condition of employment.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child, stepchild, grandchild, ward, parent, guardian, foster-parent, any person standing in loco parentis, child of common-law spouse. 3 days for death of brother, sister, grandparent, great-grandparent, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, relative residing with employee. 2 additional days for travel, if requested.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay at time and one-half, double time for callback on Christmas day.
Probationary period: 600 hours worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Severance: 75 hours' pay for each 1,950 hours worked, maximum 975 hours.
Safety shoes: $125 per year for CSA-approved footwear.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide, maintain and launder all uniform clothing required to be worn on duty or $100 per year in lieu of uniforms. Two uniforms will be provided per year. Employees working as patient/resident care workers, licensed practical nurses, home support workers will be provided with clothing allowance of $100 per year.
Mileage: $0.44 per kilometre for first 8,000 kilometres per year; $0.42 for all kilometres more than 8,000 up to 16,000 per year; $0.38 for all kilometres more than 16,000 kilometres per year.
