Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2020 to June 7, 2021. Ratified in June 2020. Signed on Oct. 28, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2020: 1%

Effective April 1, 2021: 1%

Shift premium: $15 per month for post-graduate course in nursing. $15 per month (paid to assistant head nurses only) for N.U.A. (nursing unit administration). $40 per month (paid to assistant head nurses only) for 1-year university diploma or certificate in nursing. $80 per month (paid to assistant head nurses only) for bachelor of science degree in nursing.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: All nurses are entitled to at least 5 consecutive days off at either Christmas or New Year’s, alternating years. No more than 3 weeks will be allotted any nurse during June, July, August, September.

Sick leave: Upon end of employment, nurse will be paid out accumulated unused sick leave: 25% after 2 years of service; 33% after 3 years; 40% after 4 years; 50% after 5 years.

Uniforms/clothing: When nurse (hired before Oct. 31, 1981) suffers damage to clothing/personal belongings in exercise of functions, nurse can present claim for replacement or repair.

Mileage: Where nurses are required in course of patient-care duties to commute between hospital campuses, nurses will be paid $8.50 per round trip or reimbursed cab fare. All other authorized travel paid at $0.48 per kilometre. Assertive community treatment: $0.54 per kilometre for first 5,000 kilometres; $0.48 per kilometre thereafter.

Registered nurse (start): $33.56 rising 1 step to $33.90

Registered nurse (8 years): $47.22 rising 1 step to $40.19

Registered nurse (25 years): $48.05 rising 1 step to $48.53

Nurse practitioner/registered nurse extended class (start): $50.51 rising 1 step to $51.02

Nurse practitioner/registered nurse extended class (8 years): $60.19 rising 1 step to $60.79

Nurse practitioner/registered nurse extended class (25 years): $61.15  rising 1 step to $61.76

Clinical practice coordinator/clinical resource nurse/advanced practice nurse (start): $36.07 rising 1 step to $36.43

Clinical practice coordinator/clinical resource nurse/ advanced practice nurse (8 years): $50.98 rising 1 step to $51.49

Clinical practice coordinator/clinical resource nurse/ advanced practice nurse (25 years): $51.87 rising 1 step to $52.39

Utilization resource nurse/charge nurse (start): $35.70 rising 1 step to $36.06

Utilization resource nurse/charge nurse (8 years): $49.56 rising 1 step to $50.96

Editor’s notes: Schedule: Tours of duty schedules will be posted 6 weeks in advance of start date and cover 4-week period. Extended tours (12 hours): Will be introduced into any unit for 6-month trial period if 75% of nurses in unit vote to do so by extended ballot, followed by second vote requiring 75% support to continue. Vehicle-related expenses: Where, by nature of job, nurse is required by insurance company to carry business automobile insurance, employer will pay difference between personal (with driving to work) insurance premium and business insurance premium, maximum $200 per year. Employer will pay cost of each nurse having personal vehicle cleaned/detailed twice per year and additionally as may be needed.
