Ottawa (100 cashiers, administrative, maintenance workers) and the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada (UFCW), Locals 175 and 633

Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 2, 2016, to Sept. 1, 2019. Signed on June 28, 2017.
Shift premium: $0.80 per hour (previously $0.75 per hour) for all hours worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $0.85 per hour for all hours worked as trainer.
Paid holidays: 10 days. 
Vacations with pay: Vacation pay in accordance with Employment Standards Act to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 4 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 20 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 44 hours per week or 10 hours per day. 
Meal allowance: $10 for employee required to work more than 12 consecutive hours per shift.
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute to United Food and Commercial Workers Benefit Trust Fund $276 per month (previously $269 per month) for each full-time employee who has completed 9 months of service. Employee will contribute $62 per month (previously $55 per month). Employee’s portion of premium is for life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term disability policies prior to payment of extended health care, prescription drugs and dental policies.
Sick leave: After 1 year of service: 4 days per year. After 2 years of service: 6 days per year. After 6 years of service: 5 days per year. 50% of unused sick leave will be paid out at end of year. 
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (child, spouse, common-law spouse, father, mother, sister, brother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren). 2 additional unpaid days to make funeral arrangements and to attend funeral. 1 day for death of sister-in-law, brother-in-law.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months. 
Call-in pay: Minimum of 4 hours of work.
Probationary period: 3 months or 40 regular shifts, whichever comes first.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months.
Safety shoes: $80 per year (previously $75 per year) for safety boots for all full-time employees classified as maintenance, ambassador, jockey or traffic.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide: seasonal company jacket, 1 tie, 2 pairs of black trousers, 2 short-sleeved tops for summer, 2 long-sleeved tops for winter. Employer will not unreasonably deny request for extra uniform depending if employee works extra hours or under special circumstances.

Editor’s notes: Collective agreement: Employer will pay $550 towards cost of printing collective agreement into booklet form. Medical certificate: Employer will pay fee prescribed by OMA, maximum $20. Bank deposits: Upon completion of employee’s shift, employee must deposit all daily revenues at bank or deposit box/vault as instructed by employer. Employees will receive one-half hour pay at regular rate when required to deposit at bank. Education fund: Employer will contribute $300 per year to UFCW Local 175 Education and Training Fund. Leukemia fund: Employer will contribute $200 per year to UFCW 175 Leukemia Fund.
