Renewal agreement: Effective July 26, 2015, to April 30, 2020. Signed on Sept. 11, 2015.
Wage adjustments:
Effective first Sunday in May 2017, 2018, 2019: Base rate will increase by average percentage change in the Alberta “All items” consumer price index.
Shift premium: $1.20 per hour for employees working shifts starting between 4 p.m. and 5 a.m. $1.50 per hour above highest classification supervised for foremen.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 6% vacation pay, 4% holiday pay paid on each paycheque.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond 8 per day or 40 per week. Time and one-half for all time worked on a holiday.
Medical benefits: Operating Engineers Local 955 Health and Wellness Trust Fund.
Vision: Employer provides non-prescription tinted safety glasses.
Pension: 10% of hourly base rate to the Operating Engineers Local 955 Pension Fund.
Bereavement leave: 36 regularly scheduled hours at straight time rates for employee’s parents, grandparents, siblings, spouse, common-law partner (regardless of gender), children, parents-in-law, or grandchildren.
Call-in pay: 3 hours’ pay if employee reports for scheduled shift and no work is available. 4 hours’ pay or pay for hours worked, whichever is greater, if employee commences work and is sent home.
Safety shoes: 10¢ per hour for mechanics welders, apprentice mechanics, tire technicians, service technicians, and lube and fuel technicians, to a maximum of $225 per year.
Uniforms/clothing: Rainwear will be provided when required to work in the rain. Gloves, wristlets, coveralls, quilted coveralls will be provided.
Tool allowance: $1 per hour worked for journeyman mechanics and apprentice mechanics, paid monthly. (Previously 50¢ per hour worked to all employees other than mechanics.)
Mileage: 49¢ per km. (Previously 39¢ per km.)
