Wages, pensions hiked in three-year agreement: IAM

Members of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), Local Lodge 2707 ratified a new collective agreement on May 18 with Kromet International in Cambridge, Ont.

The three-year agreement provides wage improvements, pension improvements, shift-premium improvements and benefit improvements amounting to three per cent in each year, said the union.

Other agreement highlights include shift-language improvements, increased safety-glass allowance, increased safety-boot allowance and improved agreement language addressing grievance resolution and communication, according to IAM.

The 170 employees manufacture appliance handles, decorative aluminum and stainless steel trim for appliances, microwave trim kits, kitchen vents, automotive step rails and roof racks, urban transit hardware and luggage racks and lighting components and assemblies.
